Happy...

60th Wedding Anniversary...

Hi there...

Wow, imagine being married for 60 years??? Two of my mum's friends are celebrating this amazing milestone today...

Unfortunately they do have to live apart :( Whilst my mum's friend is quite fit and healthy and lives in a lovely flat, her husband has dementia ...such a cruel, cruel condition and he has to live in a home. He thinks they are getting married today, just so sad.. They are having a celebration lunch out with friends at a lovely hotel..

Here is the card I made for mum to take with her... Of course a Mo Manning image :) this time..a Penny Black stamp 'Tom and Tilly'.

I wasn't sure what colours to go for...so I just went for muted vintage tones! Coloured with Coloursoft pencils.

I'm going to enter this in the 'Penny Black Saturday Challenge'.... the theme is 'favourite technique'...mine is stamping and colouring in! :)

Hello............

August!

Hi there......I can't believe how quickly this year is going......

Here are my August Calendar pages all ready to be filled in.........

I didn't really like the background when I was working on it......but I remember the lovely Kate Crane saying all pages go through that...and just to keep working on them and they do get better! Now I love ♥ my pages!

I just brayered acrylic paints over the background and then over-stamped...The Arrows and the word are both from an Andy Skinner stencil. My August letters are from an ancient Tim Holtz foam stamp set...I did manage to stamp the 'g' upside down!

My days do tend to be the same a lot of the time...so I found a Hero Arts stamps set, that again is ancient! and just stamped and doodled on some days! August is also my birthday month..so there had to be cake on there!

My gorgeous girlie is one of Trish Lattimer's new stamps ...love these...available here  I just added some legs to her!

Lets hope that August goes a bit more slowly than July....though I suspect it won't!!!

Postcards...........

Hi there...

When I was getting ready to post my 'favourite ATCs' swap, I thought it might be nice if I made something to go in the post with them...

I decided to make some Postcards...I must admit I got that idea form one of my swapees!!

Here they are all together ready to post!! I have used some of my favourite images...gotta love that bird :)

Here they are individually...

I really enjoyed making these...I just used 3 colours of acrylic paint and brayered the background and then overstamped and added some gesso through a stencil.

I hope they like them...

You've been 'Framed'..........

Hi there...

This feels like a bit of a blast from the past.. so much so that I had to hunt down my little pockets and a stamp for the back....

What am I talking about..........

ATC swapping :) Goodness it's ages since I've done any swapping and I have forgotten how much fun it is....Since rejoining Facebook after a couple of years absence I found a couple of groups that hold monthly swaps, so I decided to take the inky stampy plunge!

My first is for the Stampotique group...the theme is 'Framed' and here are my 2 ATCs....all ready to post at the end of the week..

I have used 'Agatha Crown'  I love ♥ her.....

For the background I created what I think is called a masterboard....I took an A4 piece of my stamping card and brayered a few colours of paint onto it then added some splodges and extra stamping and doodling and then chopped it up to cover my ATCs...My girlie is coloured with ProMarkers and Coloursoft pencils...

I have used some of the quote from Jo Capper-Sandon's 'Sometimes I pretend'..

I had such fun making these I know I'll be making more...just hope my swapees like them...there are some seriously good artists in the group!

Art Journal....

Summer School!

I am taking an online Art Journal Summer School course....My intention was to keep up with the videos and do all my homework and everything! I really should have known better......After all I am still finishing last Christmas' 'Journal My Christmas' so what hope have I got for summer school??? As mum always says 'God loves a trier' so I am trying!!!

I think it may be the case that I don't do everything right now...but I am downloading all I can and will try and catch up :) :) Also I think that some of the more advanced 'painty' ones may be a bit beyond me...so it's a case of dipping in and out and doing the ones that make me smile :)

I started with the lovely and very talented Kate Crane her video is a wonderful riot of colour and flowers.....Doodling...something that I am trying....

This is a little test piece made for my Junk Journal...lots more practice needed I think...but they are all 'drawn' by my own fair hand! I drew them on watercolour card and used my little set of water colours....which I did have to brush the dust off!! They haven't seen the light of day for about 5 years!

When I showed it to Bry..he could see a face...which I couldn't at the time but now can...very abstract...it did occur to me to try and put a border round it to make it into a face...maybe next time!!!

Thanks Kate for the inspiration...........
